Biography

Onjelique Christine Stevens (Onjo)

September 5, 1982 — March 27, 2007

This website is intended to share Onjo’s Celebration of Life through pictures, memories and writings from Onjo.
We ask that everyone sign her guestbook and feel free to share any memories or photos you may have of her with us as well.

Onjo was not just a cheerleader, a Delta Gamma Sister, or the life of the party. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, sharing her courage and her smile. When I asked her if she was angry about how things were turning out, she replied, “no, I am simply on the chosen journey” and God was walking with her. Onjo never wanted anyone to know she was sick, this is not who defined her. She collected dragonflies and believed fairies become dragonflies after death. We now surround ourselves with her collection and everytime we see a new one, we feel she is around and hope you will feel the same the next time you see one.

We have started an endowed scholarship in her name at Roanoke College, so her memory and smile will live on forever at her alma mater, encouraging others to share in her courage and inspiration.

Thank you for visiting our website for Onjo.
